it’s formally from the mid 20th century so probably not as such. given the dominant cultural conditions i would not trust them (if you can find one) to be quality allies unless they bring it up themselves, and even then there’ll be a lot of “i don’t think the government should legally oppress you but i don’t want to see it”.

in the reading i’ve done over the years the vibe i get is that they lag a movement behind actual liberation when the liberation is in conflict with church doctrine. that gets you the black church being at the forefront of the US civil rights movement but feminism and queer liberation are more at odds with the patriarchal ideology so you need a generation or two that comes up in a tolerant culture for the structure to change and by that time they ain’t leading shit.
