I’ll admit I defended him in the past. I did see the plausible deniability in the tattoo and reddit posts, but this is just horrible.

There’s no excuses for these actions. The documention provided is damning in every way.

He must drop out, and in a just world face criminal charges

If he refuses to drop out he should be pushed out

What documentation? A one-sided story from five years ago?

We’re not supposed to question the timing of this?

She told Politico she hesitated to make her claim public because she had a “huge moral conflict” between supporting Platner’s politics and not supporting him as a person.

Fuck, even his actual victim struggled to square her own right to justice with her political convictions. She made the right choice though, if he doesn’t respect the consent of a partner, he certainly won’t respect the consent of the governed.

Racicot told Politico she had previously had consensual relations with Platner, until a night in 2021 when he allegedly let himself into her unlocked house and forced himself on her. She said she repeatedly told him to stop and that she believed he was “almost blackout drunk”.

Getting black out drunk and raping your sometime fuck buddy by breaking into her house in the middle of the night and forcing your self on her that’s like one of the worst possible scenarios. That guy does not belong in power he is an irresponsible predator.

The obvious solution here is to undo the Missouri Compromise that happened only to extend slavery. Retrocede Maine to Massachusetts and just deprive Missouri of Congressional representation/statehood.

I believe this round of accusations against Platner are credible. I’d like to see more receipts but I will try not to reflexively deny the victim from coming forward how and when she did.

That said, if Platner does not step down within the next week, then Maine must accept one of the two options they are given, as is. One is a Senator who will support women having no rights related to voting or bodily autonomy, reckless war spending, support for genocide, and no accountability on Trump’s corruption empire, while starving the livelihood of the common American. The other is a Senator with a storied history chewed and spat out by the military, leading to drunken behvaiour and an alleged serious rape incident, who will work to stop Israel and large corporations having influence through their money in politics, and prosecute Trump org for their crimes and benefit more than just the 1%.

If he does, the choice is likely to be between supporting the removal of women’s rights, supporting genocide, oligarchy and Trump’s corruption, versus flowery words opposing these things but tacitly allowing the same to continue unpunished.

Heck if I know. It seems possible for a perpetrator of that to reform during that time too.

He’s a disgusting pig of a man who deserves to be in jail. Voting for him is a moral stain. The Dems are so commited to the lesser evil thing that they’re putting up the lesser rapist for elections now. Unbelievable.

I think so too, but my read is that it was funny to him as a non-nazi to get the tottenkopf (whether he knew at the time or not), but didn’t go with that story because people wouldn’t believe or like it.

Despite a lot of people being okay with war crimes against civilians of other countries, I’m glad at least they draw the line somewhere (probably the same kind of scum who are fine with the military but hate ICE; at least they have a line somewhere)

She told Politico she hesitated to make her claim public because she had a “huge moral conflict” between supporting Platner’s politics and not supporting him as a person. She also said she did not share the sexual assault claims with the New York Times for their story because she did not want to be known as a rape victim.

But now she’s ok with that and making accusations at the worst possible political time for Platner. This is sus AF.

Don’t be victim blaming. Literally everyone warned he couldn’t be trusted. I mean, the Nazi tattoo wasn’t enough for you to realise he’s a piece of shit?

hardly victim blaming. you have an axe to grind against this guy. schumer/gilli have used this tactic repeatedly to target people they dont like.

if platner does nothing else but remove collins im happy.

Timing and context. Next time file a police report when it happens and I’ll lend it more credence vs it purely being a made up story with no supporting evidence.

You’d need a few more reports for it to actually being a pattern of behavior vs some unfortunate situation where two individuals recollection of events differs.

Right now all you have is a singular individual being pushed forward by a group of political actors with a history of making false sexually assault allegations against political opponents.

platner hasnt done anything yet. hes been accused by a group that has literally made false sexual assault allegations in the past against political opponents and everyone else is dog piling to avoid any appearance of condoning it. which is understandable.

if this was a serious allegation they’d have filed criminal charges but the fact of the matter is they wont because they’re not real allegations. remember biden had literally half a dozen or more allegations against him and schumer/gilli/warren/main stream media didnt say shit.

Sure just file some criminal charges, it’s so easy and not at all one of the most stressful things you can do with no benefit to yourself…
