The cheapest one currently available in Australia is the BYD Atto 1 (AU $23,990 = US $16,630 at current exchange rates), but this would be the second cheapest.

      Edit PS:

zecar.com has a list of EVs available in Australia which can be sorted and filtered by cost and other factors.. I’m not in any way affiliated with them but always singing the praises of that site because I’m shocked at the number of other Australians I meet who say stuff like “EVs all cost $50,000 or more so I can’t afford one” and aren’t aware there are more affordable options. The cheapest fossil fuel car currently for sale in AU is the MG 3 Vibe ($20,990), so $3000 more for a car that costs 10 times less to run is trivial.

It’s great to have, great value, and the car really does look good, but it’s not miles away from the Atto or the MG Urban, both of which are great cars for the money.
