I never had lentils I prefered over beans. Not saying lentils are bad I had a couple of lentil dishes that were fine but I never got hype over a lentil dish. There are loads of bean dishes though or even just a side dish I thought are cool

lentils + kidney beans is great for a veggie bolognaise or chilli
From a purely taste/eating perspective, yeah, I agree, beans win every time.
Where lentils excel is that you can cook them in 20-30 minutes, whereas beans need hours and hours.
Just some brown lentils with tagliatelle 🤤
