In a post titled “Trump is symbolic of the rot of the US government”, they were calling the concept of “harm reduction” (as in, voting for the person who’s not literally Hitler) “bullshit that liberals tell themselves because they know that what they support is evil”, because they’re a sane, mature human who is not at all stupid as hell.

They didn’t really like it when I pushed back on that narrative by pointing out that far more people have been harmed in the first 2 years of a Trump presidency than would have been over 8 years of a Harris presidency. Que sera, sera.

It’s not “wishful thinking” to suggest that Harris would have behaved like pretty much every Democrat before her for the past 40 years. I will grant you that she could have had a stroke and Fetterman’d out, but I think you’re seriously downplaying the sheer amount of destruction that Trump has caused. It would be extremely difficult for a James Bond-type supervillain to purposely do all the damage Trump has done on accident. Just use simple common sense, here, is all I’m asking.

Thats a pretty one dimensional metric for suffering, I can do the same.

Trumps goverment deported 600000 till now

Biden and Harris deported 270000 in 2024

So if we want to compare 2 (actually 1,5) current years of Trump with 8 years of Harris, who was on track to continue Bidens path, we could see more than 2 million deportations in that time frame.

Edit: you demanded facts dude, don’t crack the shits when you get them.

Whats up with that part? Did me not responding fast enough make you add it? Dont really get what you want to communicate with that.

These comparison you’re trying to make to Taleya’s post is not equitable. But hey, if you want play “deportations” how many biden ones were of citizens? How manhy of them were found to be illegal in courts of law?

this coment really does read like you’re trying to build a framework of "both sides bad" but one side is a bit shit and the other one is monstrous.

Fuck off with legal / illegal deportations. All deportations are bad, probably all include suffering and you do not really seem to be able to grasp or acknowledge that.

Do you honestly think deportations and deaths are the same measurement of suffering?

No? I just did the same as you, I pointed to a singular data point that supported my believe even when I know it doesnt show the full picture and while I am aware there are others that could contradict my point.

Because this argument is not about facts at all, its about what you believe how 8 years of Harris would have gone, even if you do not actually know it and will never know it.
