No, COD 2. Heavily based on Enemy at the Gates. The games took a lot from movies like that.
I don’t think the “first man gets the rifle, second man gets the ammo” was actually a practice IRL. They definitely shot anyone who shied from battle though.
Cod 2 was always my favorite. Playing zombies or president online was the best. It was also a time where everyone used their mics and they werent all lil shit talking kids.
yeah that’s the one level in all the CoD series that stands out for me and can still see it in my head. you’re given only ammo and you have to follow the guy carrying the rifle. remember playing it in my early 20s and was like “da fuck is this? where the hell is MY gun?”
I just remember that fist CoD, where you play as soviet, and the comissar fucking shoot you if retreat
And you’re only given ammo to start. No gun.
When the one with the rifle is killed, pick up the rifle and shoot
You’d have to pick one up from a comrade that, uh, embraced pacifism? That’s grim AF.
As is tradition, going back to at least the great war / WWI
Was that Big Red One?
An Xbox spin off of one of the first two games?
