    Those estimates of deaths caused by the Mongol expansion are highly dubious to be clear. Certainly it was brutal but our record keeping from that time is sparse as hell and even when it exists you can’t trust them very much. This is made much worse by nearly all records of the conquest being from conquered or soon to be conquered people who had every reason to inflate the brutality and death counts.
