    Let me guess, defaults to on. Everyone around you is being recorded, always. You’re saying the quiet part out loud google. Wonder in how many jurisdictions is this illegal surveillance? Governments like to keep that for themselves, but hey, Amazon Alexa got away with it, sadly.

      Maybe because Alexa is in a private home (so at least someone did it by choice)? This crap would/could listen in on strangers on the fucking bus.

      Audio recording falls into 1 party consent laws in most US states. Video is where it still gets fuzzy

          Yes, but the US is one of the only places you are practically locked to either android or apple, so im speaking of the most relevant issues for me. Tons of “3rd party” operating systems are available for european/asian phones. Those phones are just often incompatible with US networks.
