The test vehicle, a FAW Jiefang J6P new energy pure electric tractor, was equipped with a 339 kWh high-capacity sodium-ion battery. Over a testing period spanning nearly seven months, the vehicle covered a cumulative distance of over 15,000 km.
15,000 km is not an awful lot of distance, but it’s good to hear that we may get rid of Diesel HGVs in the not too distant future.
Tractor or truck?
You’re probably thinking (rightly) of this type of tractor. However, the cabin unit of a truck is also called a tractor.
Searcing for the Jiefang J6p yields results of the latter type.
Interesting, I suspected that’d be the case, but I never heard of using tractor in this context before. Thanks.
You’ve never heard of big rigs being called: “tractor trailer”?
Not that I remember 🤷 But then again, I’m not a native speaker, could have easily not paying attention.
