The Daily Wire has been going through huge financial struggles which have resulted in many layoffs. However, most didn’t know what happened behind the scenes. The former CEO and co-founder of the company Jeremy Boreign recently revealed the issues with their movie and TV production as a hedge fund looking to buy or partner with the Daily Wire has said it lost $50 million dollars making a anti-woke Game of Thrones.

It has strong female characters, both figuratively and literally, and it has a few queer characters. It’s not that woke by any means but it clears the bar at which a right-winger might get mad at it.

That’s such a low bar. No wonder these types of dudes are trying to make divorce illegal. If you can’t handle the idea of a non subservient female character even in a fantasy setting, a woman leaving you and taking half of the assets must be earth shattering.

From what I remember of the show, even the few strong female character’s plots were mainly driven by male characters.

Lol, I just looked it up. Only 18 of the 67 episodes pass the Bechdel test.

It’s such an extremely low bar, but you can fail to clear it based entirely on made up criteria in right wingers’ heads. That one Korean Nier Automata ripoff with the sexy lady character pissed off the chuds by adding roughly 1/8" of cloth to her sexy swimsuit outfit.

And yet soo many of them are morally outraged by pornography. The whole belief system is so inconsistent. At least back before the internet, the conservatives were mostly congruent in their prudishness.

It’s as though the greater conservative movement has just straight up adopted the “it’s about controlling women’s bodies” feminist critique as a mandate.

It’s consistent when you understand that

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

              Uno reverse…Fallacy-naming fallacy

I described the inconsistency of the group as a whole. I didn’t make assumptions about the hypocrisy of the individuals within the group.

the ones mad about stellar blade aren’t the ones doing the porn habit tracking apps with their dad (like the speaker of the house). your “them” collapses the two groups into one, but it only applies to the weirdo christians.

I was more talking about the Incel crowd, many of which are both upset about woke in their video games and also blame the porn industry for their misanthropic lifestyles. Just the other day an Incel tried to shoot up the headquarters of porn hub.

Even if I had been talking about evangelicals, your claim that I was utilizing the goomba fallacy would still be incorrect. The goomba fallacy is when you automatically assume anyone associated with a group that is hypothetical are automatically hypocritical as individuals.

Typically they’re mad specifically about the OnlyFans variety of porn. Displays of feminine sexuality piss them off when it’s the women themselves in control of it.
