Nine women say they were encircled, yelled at and filmed by a group of teenage boys on e-bikes while on a women's history tour of Wollongong.

The harassment of a group of women by young boys on e-bikes in Wollongong has sparked an outcry.

Nine women spent last weekend on the She Shapes History walking tour, which explores unsung women in history.

Guide Lindsay Burlton said about 30 teenagers approached the group on Sunday morning.

She said the women attempted to walk away, but were followed and circled by the teenagers, with video seen by the ABC showing the young boys yelling and jeering.
