Out with the tooth fair money, in with the research grants!
At 9yo I would just leave it at being proud of them and their methods. I’d reward it. If they are questioning it on their own they are ready for that magic to be gone.
If the answers to those questions are anything other than “No/They don’t” or “Yes, but only if you’re NVidia/Selling the hardware that everyone else is losing billions of dollars on” I’m going to lose it. Edit: Losing it, in a good way
