It’s really not that big of a deal. They also have no ignition/start button, which is the only sane way of have it in a EV. You just get in and drive.
Didn’t know that! Interesting
Additionally, Americans are typically fat and need even more radial maneuvering room. That’s why they find European cars cramped. The comments on cupholders in American car forums are very funny.
Well no cameras nor sensors in there though. Antennas? I would only expect cables for tilt adjustments and heating.

“Mazda”
Good car design waned hard lately, and while Mazda resisted the awful industry trends for a long time, they caved in with the latest goofy SUVs. This rebadged Changan shows how a couple of styling cues cannot replace a coherent design language, for which Mazda was famous for. It’s sad to see the Japanese don’t even try to modernize their offerings, big names won’t be around in 10-20 years with this approach…
Well, I think this looks much better than the beaver teeth nonsense. A shame that many need to compensate their fragile ego with huge and upright bonnet area even in electric SUVs, but this car has the excuse of being yet another compromise, accepting gas and diesel engines up to V8.
I am ashamed that also on the latest Skoda EV, they said they compromised aerodynamics to give the car a more imposing stance. On a Skoda. Imposing stance. Why are we as a species so stupid?
Sorry for the tangent.
