But fair point, I should block you. Enjoy your whatever your problem is!

The problem with the “laugh then ignore” philosophy is that many who are attracted to power do so to abuse that power.
As such, I keep running into moderators of leftist spaces on Lemmy who smack me for calling out abuses of the CCP, USSR, and DPRK. Specifically, lemmy.world/c/latestagecapitalism, lemmy.ml/c/memes, and one other that I can’t remember and can’t find because they deleted all of my comments on their community.
When you have seas of downvotes and bad faith arguments combined with moderators brutally cracking down on dissent, it makes leftists look ridiculous to most. I (and apparently OP) are then frustrated enough to be compelled to spread the word that not every socialist is engaging in good faith. I don’t know if that’s more damaging to socialism than what they do or not, but it’s the truth.
TL;DR: Echo chambers suck.

According to some (including you):
Failing to unconditionally defend any and all wrongdoings of any socialist(s) means you are a liberal.
Obviously this flies in direct contradiction to the definitions set by any sensible human being, but… that doesn’t discount the fact that many agree with you.
Purity testing is worth criticizing, even if it is arguably “purity testing” to do so. Your meme resonated with me because I keep stepping on rakes in socialist spaces for being not quite socialist enough - generally, because I criticize objectively wrong/stupid things socialists do, not because they’re socialist but because they’re objectively wrong/stupid for doing the thing. In other words, I don’t pull punches just because someone is a socialist, so I’m purity tested and removed. One less ally. One less piece of constructive criticism. Brilliant.
Objecting to “purity tests” like yours reminds me of the Paradox of Tolerance; intolerance is generally bad, but if you tolerate intolerant people, your tolerant society will become intolerant. As a consequence, you must be intolerant towards the intolerant.
TL;DR: Yes, we should “purity test” purity testers, because they are actively harmful in that they make socialists look like catty idiots.

You can thank the teeming legions of genuinely hateful people flooding platforms everywhere for their mods/admins/etc. investing less and less time in pruning each individual (suspected) instance of hate.
You were the baby that was thrown out with the bathwater. I doubt your absence will impact their shareholder value.

I shouldn’t have to add a /s
Ah, the mantra of everyone who’s ever had their satire/sarcasm mistaken for sincerity.
Again, you played with matches, you got burnt. That’s the risk for the fun you signed up for.

I did click around that exact page a week or so ago when someone was suggesting people leave Lemmy for Piefed, but similarly, I didn’t see much that I was missing on Lemmy.
So far my only gripe with Lemmy has been that I keep stubbing my toes on not supporting communism/the CCP hard enough for the tastes of some communities’ moderators. In their defense, one of them explains in their sidebar that the whole point of their community is to be propaganda for communism, but I never noticed it while browsing the front page. Ostensibly, that’s on me, so the 3-day I caught was deserved.
My only gripe with hopping over to have at Piefed would be the mild hassle involved, so I’ll probably get around to it eventually.

Your ban seems like one of two things:
The person or bot didn’t understand you were being sarcastic (hell, even I’m not 100% sure)
The person or bot didn’t receive (or bother to check) the context, which hints at the above
Sarcastically stating something is a dangerous game, and you got burnt.

I didn’t really understand the differences so I coin-flipped and landed on Lemmy.
Ah okay that makes sense.
Yeah, one thing I’ve learned about human genetics is that the markers for skin color are wonky and unpredictable.
I just feel like it’d be safer to assume she was a lot darker given the recency of African diaspora, but again I am far from an expert so I could be totally off.
I’m no anthropologist but wouldn’t her skin be a lot darker? This feels like people making depictions of Jesus look like a modern European person.
I’m a sidelined former passionate Ally, can you explain to me how an enby can be “gay” and not “pan?”

I really don’t think that’s her thoughts on the matter, but okay.
I suspect it’s that meta/power-gamers dislike taking away a meta tool to Win the Game.

somewhere down the line someone implemented it for a
goodreason thats not immediately obvious or easy to explain.

Literally how the military (and government) works, in a nutshell.
I don’t even think that should be limited to horror; I think that should be boilerplate standard across all tables.
Nobody knows when they missed something important or they wouldn’t have missed it, by definition.
… I don’t see how you decided I was only talking about bigots, but okay.
