I think my big issue with an article like this is that it pre-supposes that the vaccines solved Covid. When in reality the vaccines didn’t stop transmission and instead were used to roll back all other precautions and get every body back to work (including in the global south); Leading to more infections, thus more deaths even among the vaccinated populations.^[1] Like, if that’s not a perfect example of Social Murder, I don’t know what is.

Heck, even now in articles about Long Covid, you’ll regularly get authors downplaying current Covid infections as “mild” as if it’s the virus and not that the population that has changed by letting millions of our most vulnerable die by going mask off.
