It’s pretty normal to make a new name for yourself when entering a new permanent social context. eg A lot of Europeans invented middle-eastern sounding names for themselves and their families when they colonized Palestine. I’m guessing Zitron means Citrus is some language.

Anyway I actually disagree about RVs. For what they get you, RVs are not cheap. 100sqft or so of claustrophobia. And not necessarily easy to maintain. And because they are motor vehicles, they have an expected useful lifespan that is probably below an order of magnitude shorter than your typical single family stick build. Essentially they’re land yachts.

Basically, there were a handful of geologists and volcanologists scattered around Mount St Helens when it erupted in May of 1980, who knew full well the danger and were ready to document the event in person right up to and including their final moments. Stashing their cameras into bags and glove boxes in the last seconds as they were enveloped by ash waves and pyroclastic clouds.
