While the West gives us Theranos 2: Electric Boogaloo, China’s CATL is giving us lithium-air and sodium-ion batteries.

I believe NYC subway, the famous Chicago overhead trains, and SF Bay Area’s BART system are classified as “heavy rail” so there is some hairsplitting going on, to allow them to say “we’re #1! (in light rail)”.

But it is a nice accomplishment. I wonder if there were special events that boosted their ridership just between March and April 2026, like the bar chart indicated?
