This is awesome. I looked into the consumer options for eink and rLCD monitors (reflective lcd like an old GameBoy) and none of them are as good as this one. All of them were prohibitively expensive.
I was impressed before they said it was all open source, including hardware. That elevates them to legend status. I wonder if this will affect the market positively.
I felt what they said near the end about working for themself making them “tired, but it’s my tired.” Everyone should have the opportunity to do that.

There are a few e-ink phones already, such as the Bigme HiBreak Pro. It’s only ~21 fps, though.
Oh that’s really cool. I imagine an e-ink phone is way less distracting too - it’s slower and less bright/colorful.
Definitely looks much more usable in the bright sun, too.
They have one coming out they claim is 80fps, but I’m really skeptical until it’s actually out in the world
