How many fighter jets would it take for Ukraine to establish air supremacy in this war? Not a rhetorical question; genuinely curious how big a deal this pledge is.

I’m honestly still confused about why Fedorov was fired.

Touché. However what I mean is that building a brand isn’t something that can be guaranteed simply by spending money. GameStop could spend several billion advertising themselves as an Amazon alternative and it still might not take. Whereas the eBay brand is well established. I suppose I should have said “the kind of brand recognition that money alone can’t build”.

A well-armed partisan force could probably declare Kaliningrad’s independence right now and get away with it.

After Russian what now?

The Obama deal was better than whatever nonsense Trump is gonna settle for, but are we really pretending that nations have the right to develop nuclear weapons? I don’t even like the fact that any nation has them; no nation has a RIGHT to them. ALL nations having a right to them is perhaps more fair, but still just as absurd.
If there was a realistic plan to rid the entire world of nuclear weapons forever, I’d be all for it, but as long as war is seen by any nation as a valid way to achieve political objectives, there’s no way to put the genie back in its bottle. Disarmament would simply leave everyone at the mercy of those who crossed their fingers. As it stands, non-proliferation is the only sane policy.

Sure but a dozen or so people die every time Moscow bombs Kyiv. Russians experiencing economic inconveniences in retaliation doesn’t really cut it. I want to see the current course leading to a turn of the tide, or else we’re simply not doing enough for Ukraine.

Yes that’s my guess as well: the prospect of stealing even a fraction of the business that Amazon does would probably make the whole thing worth it, and to that end, the main thing eBay brings to the table is the kind of pre-established brand recognition that money can’t buy.
You don’t have to explain EVERY social phenomenon with a conspiracy theory.
