Can’t really say I’m against a NEP or Deng reform for Cuba provided it is robust enough for the dotp not to be threatened by it.
I’ve had similar thoughts, but i dont yet understand how the international relations will work to allow Cuba to benefit from such reforms while maintaining power. I’d guess Cuban comrades are thinking about this more deeply than I, but it seems like an almost impossible task, unfortunately
I’d seek Russian and Chinese investors, anyone that isn’t listening to US sanctions in the first place.
True, Cuba being the first proof (to ultras) of the method of internationalism that China is pursuing would be great! Still afraid that the US will not let up and China will not sacrifice for Cuba, but Cuban comrades are likely in these discussions and weighing these risks. I have optimism of the will in response to their optimism
It would be funny to allow foreign investment but none of the yanquis can reap the rewards because the embargo prevents them from buying in
