We have a large number of rooftop solar systems in Australia (as well as batteries) and they provide a large part of the daily need. The batteries have reduced the evening peak as well. As it is all getting cheaper, it makes senese.

Solar panels would help with the peaks. They don’t need to replace the nuclear plants but deal with air conditioning.

It was semi serious comment based on the Australian rooftop and utility solar. One the impacts is abundant power for air conditioning during summer.

Climate change is a bitch but we still are going to burn that fossil fuel and live with the ticks!

The big problem is that we are still adding fuel to the fire without caring that the effects are lagging. What we do today will be rolling on to us in the near future but not today. If we reduce emissions today, it’s going to be some time in the future before things moderate a bit.

Journs studiously avoid talking about climate change, if they do they use weasel word like scientists think or some scientists say rather than just state it as fact, “human caused climate change is”.

There is a line of thought that politicians are smart and know what is what. When you listen to them you realise that may be less than average intelligence.
